The UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) have announced that in accordance with its Anti-Doping Rules (UCI ADR), Brazilian rider Kleber Da Silva Ramos has been provisionally suspended following an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) of CERA.

The finding was from a sample collected by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during an out-of-competition control on 31 July 2016.

Ramos who races for the Funvic-sundown-feijão Tarumã-pindamonhangaba team rode the Olympic Road Race but was listed as DNF.

Amongst his best results are a stage win in the Tour de San Luis last year when he finished ahead of the likes of Nairo Quintana and Dani Moreno on the summit finish to Filo Sierras Comechingones.

Earlier this season, the 30 year-old finished 2nd overall in the Volta Ciclistica Internacional do Rio Grande do Sul (UCI 2.2) and was also second in the Brazilian Road Race Championships.

CERA (Continuous erythropoietin receptor activator) is a variant of EPO and amongst the cyclists who have previously tested positive for the substance are Bernhard Kohl, Stefan Schumacher, Riccardo Riccò and Leonardo Piepoli.
