The UCI have published the list of teams that have submitted a registration file for the 2017 season for both WorldTour level teams and Pro Continental teams.
The new Bahrain-Merida team and Bora-Hansgrohe are both looking to move up to World Tour level and Bora-Hansgrohe have been strengthening their squad in recent months. Amongst the new signings for the German team are current World Champion Peter Sagan, Leopold Konig, Marcis Burghardt and Rafal Majka.
Bahrain-Merida meanwhile have signed multiple Grand Tour winner Vincenzo Nibali, Giovanni Visconti, Sonny Colbrelli and Heinrich Haussler amongst others.
Other changes include TJ Sport taking over Lampre’s WorldTour licence while Giant-Alpecin will become known as Team Sunweb.
At Pro Continental level, three new teams have applied for registration – Wallonnie Bruxelles from Belgium, the Colombian Manzano Postobon team and the Irish team Aqua Blue Sport.
Aqua Blue announced their first signings earlier this week with Irish riders Matt Brammeier, Conor Dunne and Martyn Irvine all joining the team as well as Norwegian Lars Petter Nordhaug.
