Details of a two-year partnership between the Irish-backed team and the Belgian manufacturer were announced today, with Ridley to supply its three flagship frame models in the custom Aqua Blue Sport livery of navy and gold.

The team will primarily be riding the Ridley Noah SL in competition during the 2017 and 2018 seasons although Austrian climbing specialist Stefan Denifl has opted for the new Ridley Helium SLX as his superlight bike of choice.

About Aqua Blue Sport/Ridley team frames

1. Noah SL

With a frame weight of just 980 grams, the Ridley Noah SL is a benchmark in aero road bike design. Boasting new resin technologies and innovative layups that create explosive power transfer at minimal weight, the Noah SL will serve as team Aqua Blue Sport’s primary race bike.

Every Noah SL frame is an integration of components and other technologies that minimize the rider’s effort of cutting through the wind (no matter where it is coming from) and the drag associated with parts interacting with the frame.

Proprietary FAST-Technologies employed on the Noah SL include:

• F-Surface Plus: Dimpled tube moulding allows the frame to cut through the air like a golf ball;
• F-Split Fork: A dual blade fork channels the air in and around the wheel and reduces aerodynamic drag between the fork and front wheel;
• F -Seat Stays: Lowered rear stays move them out of the airflow and improve ride quality.

2. Helium SLX

Coming to market in February 2017, the new Helium SLX builds upon the reputation of the Helium SL as a superlight climber’s weapon, Built with blended 60T UD carbon, the Helium SLX frame weighs in at fewer than 750 grams in size medium, but offers a 15% increase in lateral stiffness to make it capable of performing in sprint situations. A new straight-blade fork, with a blend of 60T-40T-30T carbon, further reduces weight and improves handling precision.

3. Dean Fast

The Dean Fast is among the quickest time trial bikes on the planet, utilising a number of Ridley’s patented FAST-Technologies to create a sculpted, wind-cheating design aimed at saving riders seconds against the clock.

This is achieved using moulded F-Surface Plus technology, F-Split fork, integrated F-Brakes and all-internal cable routing – all of which combine to create some of the cleanest laminar flows on any TT bike available, particularly in real-world riding situations.

The Dean Fast also features custom stack and reach adjustment, making it possible for every rider to dial in their most efficient racing position.
