Aqua Blue Sport have been announced by race organisers A.S.O. as one of the seven wildcard teams to line up in Liège-Bastogne-Liège in April.

The other teams announced for La Doyenne are Cofidis, Solutions Crédits (FRA), Direct Energie (FRA), Sport Vlaanderen – Baloise (BEL), Team Fortuneo – Samsic (FRA), WB Aqua Protect Veranclassic (BEL) and Wanty – Groupe Gobert (BEL). However, the Irish team weren’t amongst the seven wildcards announced for La Flèche Wallonne.

The 258-kilometre classic takes place on 22 April and features eleven categorised climbs, on the way to the finish in Ans. Amongst the climbs are the Côte de la Redoute (2 kilometre-long climb at 8.9%), Côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons (1.3 kilometre-long climb at 11%) and the final climb of Côte de Saint-Nicolas (1.2 kilometre-long climb at 8.6%).

Last year’s race was won by Movistar Team’s Valverde Alejandro ahead of Dan Martin (Quick-Step Floors) and Michal Kwiatkowski (Team Sky). Aqua Blue Sport made their debut in the race with Larry Warbasse their top finisher in 32nd place.
