Irish UCI Continental team An Post – Chain Reaction are currently taking part in their first training camp in Calpe, Spain in preparation for the 2016 season.

In addition to taking part in some long training spins, the training camp also offers a chance for the riders to get to know each other.

The team has had it’s biggest change in personnel since it’s inception. Amongst the riders to depart at the end of the season were Josh Edmondson who has signed for NFTO, Conor Dunne and Alistair Slater who join JLT Condor, Xandro Meurisse who has signed for Crelan – Vastgoedservice, Aidis Kruopis who joins Verandas Willems Cycling Team and Ryan Mullen who steps up to World Tour level with Cannondale Pro Cycling Team.

In fact, only three riders from their 2015 line-up remain – Aaron Gate, Jordan Stannus and Jack Wilson.

Amongst the team’s new signings are the Australian Calvin Watson who joins from World Tour team Trek Factory Racing and Jasper Bovenhuis from the Netherlands. The Dutch rider rode the latter part of the season as a stagiaire for Cannondale-Garmin.

In addition, four Irish riders have signed for the team – Connor McConvey and David Montgomery who join from Team 3M, Daniel Stewart and national champion, Damien Shaw.
