Alexandre Geniez (FDJ) has been fined 200 Swiss Francs by the race jury at the Giro d’Italia for “unseemly behaviour” after the end of Stage 3.

The French rider was filmed pushing Hubert Dupont (Ag2R La Mondiale) and grabbing him by the jersey after the finish line in Arnhem but it is unclear what the dispute was about.

Geniez and Dupont crossed the line in 105th and 106th places respectively at the front of a group which finished 1’37” behind stage winner Marcel Kittel.

The communique from the race organisers stated that Geniez had been fined for “unseemly behaviour towards another rider (No. 4 DUPONT Hubert, ALM) in front of the public after the finish line.”
