Following on from their participation in Tirreno-Adriatico and prior to lining up in Saturday’s Milano-San Remo, the Movistar duo of Alejandro Valverde and Andrey Amador are this week riding over some of the roads to be used in the Giro d’Italia later this year.

Accompanied by Directeur Sportif Chente García Acosta and PR officer Sebastián Unzué. the pair are travelling over parts of the route of three stages in the Dolomites.

Yesterday’s route involved covering 150 kilometres which will be used in Stage 14 and they took in an incredible 5,300 metres of climbing between Alpago and Corvara Alta Badia. Valverde and Amador climbed over the ‘Passi’ of Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, Campolongo, Giau and Valparola.

Today, the pair will inspect the course to be used for the Alpe di Siusi mountain TT on stage 15 and the ascents of Mendola and Fai della Paganella, which are part of stage 16 to Bressanone.
