David Rebellin will continue for at least one more season having signed a contract for 2018 for Belgian Continental team Natura4Ever-Sovac.

The 46 year-old raced with the Kuwait-Cartucho.es team this season and took three wins, a stage and the overall at the Tour de Ijen and a stage of the Tour of Iran (Azerbaijan).

The contract comes through contact with former French pro Geoffrey Coupé who set up the new Belgian team. Coupé has also signed former Dimension Data rider Youcef Reguigui.

Rebellin signed his first pro contract back in 1992 with GB–MG Maglificio and since then has raced for Team Polti, Française des Jeux, Liquigas–Pata, Gerolsteiner, Diquigiovanni–Androni, Miche–Guerciotti, Meridiana–Kamen and CCC–Polsat–Polkowice.

Amongst his biggest wins during his career are Tirreno–Adriatico (2001), Paris–Nice (2008), Liège–Bastogne–Liège (2004), Clásica de San Sebastián (1997), Amstel Gold Race (2004) and La Flèche Wallonne (2004, 2007, 2009).

He also won the silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games Road Race but later tested positive for CERA. He was handed a two-year ban and was stripped of this medal.
